Book Review of My Headmaster by Kyuka Lilymjok
My
Headmaster by Kyuka Lilymjok is an English Fiction that represents the story of
a pupil named Nto and his headmaster who is described as a man with big
eyeballs that looked like they could see through anything and often saw through
everything when Nto sees him for the first time.
The
thought of becoming headmaster in future generates fascination and excitement
in the mind of Nto for taking admission in the same primary school where that
headmaster is the headmaster. The story describes his journey from home to
primary school which includes his adventurous first visit to school and first
direct meet with the headmaster before the school admission. The story is not
just limited to how Nto gets to know more about the headmaster and his views to
deal with the world around, but it gives us the complete view of school
environment as well as different people from the school and village through the
lens of Nto. The emotions of the pupil in the story are relatable to every
child in any village who has a dream to attend the school.
The book can be recommended to every person
who wants to revisit the school memories and it reminds us that ‘To teach is to
touch the life forever.’
