Book review by Swinal Dabre Roll no 09/SYBED 2019- 21

Night and day had merged making me feel as if roaming above the skies while reading this book.

“Wuthering heights” is a book on a beautiful love story between Heathcliff and Catherine. The story has love triangles having two Catherine and Heathcliff’s strong love. They both marry other people and their own children gets caught up in their fates. The novel is imaginarily beautiful with many suspenses that will make hold of your heart.

Catherine and Heathcliff had grown up  together, loving each other  after Catherine’s father had found  Heathcliff destitute on the streets of the nearby city. The Father nurtured Heathcliff just as his own son Hindley.

As for this, Hindley hated Heathcliff and after his father’s death treated him as a labourer in his fields. Heathcliff and Catherine continued their relationship however after an incident Catherine becomes infatuated by another person Edgar and desires to engage with him. This made Heathcliff run away from the place.

He returns after three years with huge wealth to take revenge from all those who ill treated him. His desire for revenge made him marry Catherine’s sister-in-law Isabella. Later Catherine becomes Ill and dies giving birth to a daughter. Isabella too flees from Heathcliff's cruelty and gives birth to his son. She named him Linton

Thirteen years later young Catherine meets Linton and they begin a secret romance. Heathcliff finding it way to take revenge from Edgar accepts their love and marries Catherine to Linton.  And the circle of love rolling through two generations comes to an end.

Personally I found joy in reading this dark and twisted romance story though it was difficult to read in the beginning. Once you get into the story you won’t stop yourself from turning pages.
