A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

Book Review of A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

A midsummer night’s dream is a play written by everyone’s favourite William Shakespeare. This book was written in the year 1595/96. The play consists of many subplots that takes place in the forest. it is one the most popular works by William Shakespeare.

The story begins with the marriage preparation of Theseus the duke of Athens and hippolyta who was the queen of the Amazons..Egeus is a nobleman of Athens. He wishes that his daughter hermia should married Dermetrius but Hermia loves Lysander and they Plan to escape from Athens and marry. Hermia tells about this plan to her friend named Helena. Helena tells the plan about Hermia and Lysander to Dermetrius. The night that Hermia and Lysander plan to escape, dermetrius follows them in the forest.

In the forest, there are two groups. One is the group of fairies including Oberon and his queen Titania who had come to bless Theseus and Hippolyta for their marriage. Another group in the forest are the craftsman who had planned a play for Theseus and Hippolyta’s marriage. Oberon and Titania have a small fight amongst them and Oberon plans to take revenge against Titania.

Oberon sends puck to get a magical flower. The juice of that flower can spread over a sleeping person’s eyelid to make that person fall in love with the first thing they see after waking up. He orders puck to put the juice of that flower on Dermetrius and Titania. Puck get confused and makes mistakes. After all the confusion, puck resolves the mistakes and everybody wake up to a good morning.

Personally, I love the playas it has many twists and turns. It is basically a love polygon that gets complicated. For anyone who loves reading, would love this one too.
