Heidi by Johanna Spyri.

Book Review of Heidi by Johanna Spyri.

We often think that maturity is something that children might not possess but there comes a time where this stereotype is proven wrong. And that moment arrived in my life after I read 'Heidi' by Johanna Spyri.

Many people are under the misconception that Heidi is just a children's book but it is a joy out of this world to read it as an adult.

Johanna Sypri has managed to entrap her audience in this book in such a way that you feel like you're right there with Heidi in the Alps mountain whether breathing the crisp cold air or running along with her on the pastures of the Alps.

If you read the book, surely Heidi, the main character, would hold a special in your heart as her child like wonder and innocence will soothe you.

Another character that touched my heart was Uncle Alm, the grandfather of Heidi. There's a quote which applies to Uncle Alm and that is 'Do not judge a book by it's cover'. We see that he was just judged as a hermit because he wasn't very sociable. He turns out to be caring and loving like any other grandfather would be.

At times, we need a book that can distract us from the dark times we are living in and Heidi has done that for me.
