Book Review of Hamlet - William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English poet
and wrote many plays which encompasses different human emotions, behaviour and
the way in which lead their lives.
Hamlet is presented to us in different perspectives through the dialogues of different characters of the play. He had a kind of disgust towards the world and notably royal marriage.
He is also called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon", because he is considered to be one of the greatest poets.
Hamlet was written between 1598 and the summer of 1602, by William Shakespeare. The story of Hamlet is found very early in European Literature.
The character of Hamlet is subtle and complex. Hamlet as a person has a very deep understanding of the world around him and acts in a very adult like manner.
Hamlet has this important characteristic of contemplating his actions and not reacting in a hasty way towards anything. His conscience also played an important role in the way he reacted to situations.
After knowing the reality of the situation Hamlet comes to accept that humanity contains both good and evil.
His characteristics also associate to that of a university student. He has an interest for theatre and also love for sense of humor reflects his personality as a great intellectual. He also is faced with his own inadequacy as an emotional and active being.
He also accepts his own human
failings and that he must prepare for him own death and he thinks that’s it’s
his way to salvation.
Hamlet’s inspection on his doubts, death and exploration of afterlife provide a wide and dominant themes for the play.
This play is a must read for avid readers who enjoy thrillers, this play changes the way you perceive life.
