Book Review of No Lie Like Love by Paul Rawlins
Rawlins
has done an amazing job in this debut book which was released on 1st
Dec 1996. The book consists of 11 short stories of different mens' who find
love and hope in themselves and are willing to be dedicated and change for
good.
The
characters portrayed make you believe in them. As you journey with them, one can
relate to the ups and downs in life we face and where we want to give up each
time! But, it is love for ourselves which helps us to get going.
The
characters are a shady financier, a middle aged – divorcee, a sick and dying
professor and many more. It focuses on how each one has been put down in life
however, love for themselves helps them rise up!
It
is very realistic as in the current scenarios where we just want others to make
us feel loved, where we seek for validation from people, but, we need to find
all this in ourselves!
We
need to love ourselves for who we are, we should do things what we want and not
bother about what other people think! We must break every chain that helds us
behind and believe in ourselves.
To
summarise – It could do much better by giving more clear perspectives however, the
short stories really engage the reader as the reader gets to identify with a
new character at every stage. This book helps you to believe in yourself more
and that is the important message!
