Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen

Book Review of  Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is one of my all time favourites, and I read a lot of books so when I finally had to narrow it down to that one particular book it had to be the classic  Pride and Prejudice, a romantic novel written by Jane Austen. The novel beautifully shows the reader's how Elizabeth Bennet, Charlotte Bennet and Darcy characters have strong character development. Elizabeth Bennet is shown as the dynamic, head strong protagonist, who learns about the repercussions of hurried judgments and finally brings her to a conclusion of true character.

This novel is jam packed with humour even though its humour lies in its honest depiction of manners, marriage, money and status during what was once considered the lifestyle of the high class in Britain. This book is the best of not just both worlds but rather all worlds. A wonderful romance that blooms among Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy, Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingley, the lovable characters, wry humor, and the gripping writing. The story revolves around Elizabeth Bennet. One of the five Bennet daughters, she is at an age where the only thing women could do was marry a wealthy man; all the Bennet sisters  are pressured to find a wealthy man to secure the family's comfort. Elizabeth, however, refuses to marry a man who she isn't acquainted with, and marry for love. She meets the sulk, silent, and very wealthy Mr. Darcy, who at first finds Elizabeth "tolerable to look at". Over time, Mr Darcy begins to fall in love with her wit and charm. Elizabeth and Darcy have their differences but through the course of the novel, the readers begin to see that her prejudices towards him fade out. The only question that the readers can't help themselves but ask - will the protagonist overcome their pride and prejudices and get married? You'll find yourself on the edge of your seats throughout the novel to which the reader is left the ultimate question in their head, Is it true that a single rich man must be in want of a wife?
