Library Orientation - 10th April 2021

“Lets Know STIE Library and its Resources” A Library orientation program for F.Y.B.Ed20-21 students was organized at St. Teresa's Institute Of Education on 10th April, 2021 at 2:30to 4.30 via Google meet. The program was organized by Ma'am Dr. Shakuntala Nighot the in charge of STIE library. The main aim of the session was to make students aware of the library rules and instructions.

Ma’am began stating the term “I will be the best library user of 2020-2021The program was organized to make the students aware of the library rules, resources and facilities offered. The detailed orientation with minute details was given through a presentation and practical hands on whenever possible.

Ma'am introduced to us every nook and cranny of the library. The rules and norms from the entry to the exit of the library. She gave us full insightabout the library, how are the books been managed and even information was provided on the cupboards and shelves. What are the steps that could be used to issue the book, tore turn the book, and issue duration for different material.Searching library resources through STIE Library Web-OPAC is demonstrated in detail.

After the visit to the library, We were also introduced to various social networking sites and their utility for STIE students. She demonstrated to us Institutional Facebook page ,Youtube Channel of the institution, STIELibraryBlog etc. students were asked to visit these sites and to subscribe or to send afriendrequesttothesame so that we can easily get notification for the new resources added on those.

N-LIST membership is activated for all of us by generating individual user IDs and Passwords to ensure 24*7 access to vast consortia comprising of several databases of e-Journals and E-books.

We were guided to register on National Digital Library of India and to become STIE NDLI club member. We were also informed about annul STIE Best Library User Award and criteria to win it.

49 students participated in the orientation to the library. All of us realized the importance of library and its resources in the journey of becoming a best teacher! We all were feeling information empowered as we are offered the key to the treasure trove of information and knowledge. The program was great success with valuable information highlighting the importance of library.

STIE Library Events 2014-15

Book Exhibition-Cum-Sale:

  

          The STIE Library , and New India Book Company organised  Exhibition cum Sale of books 4th Sept 2014.





      Library Orientation

      Library Orientation cum Tour for the new batch of STIE
      students was conducted on 11th September 2014 to create awareness about library resources, rules and regulations.


         





N-List Orientation. 

N-List Orientation was held on 12th of February for the Students of 2014-15, It was organized for all 100 students of  STIE.  where they were divided in batches of 10. Thus, there were 10 such batches of student, it was organized in Computer lab to give the Hands on Experience to all, Students were taught to search data through different Searching Techniques , to Enable Students to use library databases, e-books and e-Journals and other resources Effectively.
Each Student were Provided with Individual User ID and Password to make it more accessible.






  • Library Internship

     STIE Library Conducted two months Internship Programme from 2nd Feb 2015 to 31st March 2015  for an M.L.I.Sc. student of SHPT School of Library and Information Science, SNDT Women's University. 
     

     

  • Community Work in Library
    Two of B. Ed. students   (2014-15) were assigned to complete hours of Community Work in STIE Library  

     

     

     

     National Science Day.


  • STIE Library Celebrated National Science Day on 20th February 2015, More than 100 visitors Visited Library Including all B Ed. Students, Professors and Principle, Book display was appreciated by almost every visitor for its Rich book Collection, Creative Display





    Women’s Day.

     

    As STIE is a women’s College we hold a very good collection of Books. To celebrate Women’s Day on 8th March 2015, we Displayed books on various issues and achievement , such as women empowerment, Girls Education, women and Health, ideal women etc... And that has really impressed the visitors.


    World Happiness Day.

               World Happiness Day.... is a day where every individual should stay out of stress and worries and share their love and happiness all over the world . STIE library displayed book on Happiness, Joy, Spreading Love,  Self Motivation, enthusiasm, Positive thinking, creative thinking and inspirational books.






     

     

     

    International Plantation Day. 21st March 2015


  • On 23rd. March 2015, We have a displayed Encyclopedias and book on  nature, Plantation, Creative Gardening, Environmental Education,  Herbal Medicines etc...
