National Webinar Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Libraries and KRC's-15/10/2023

The guest speaker for the webinar was Dr. Parthsarathi Mukhopadhaya Department of Library and Information Science University of Kalyani, West Bengal

 

St. Teresa’s Institute of Education and Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan’s  Smt. Surajba College of Education jointly organized a national webinar on “ARTIFICAIL INTELLEGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING FOR LIBRARIAES AND KRCs” on 15^th September 2023 at 2:30 pm to 4:30 PM on zoom platform. The guest speaker for the webinar was Dr. Parthsarathi Mukhopadhayay, faculty member of University of Kalyani, department of library and information science.

It was a very informative webinar as Dr. Mukhopadhaya enlightened the audience with a wide range of tools and motivated to explore those later on. The webinar began with a Sanskrit shloka describing knowledge as supreme wealth and person should always be thirsty for gaining new knowledge to excel in his work. Prof Dr. Gisele D’souza, Principal in Charge of St. Teresa’s Institute of Education delivered keynote address. She welcomed all the participants and the guest speaker. She suggested that AI is entering all the fields especially in libraries so to gain knowledge about all the tools is the need of the hour. She perfectly quoted that computer is fast and accurate; man is slow, sometimes inaccurate but brilliant so we need to make combination of both.

Dr Shakuntala Nighot introduced the esteemed speaker.  The session saw an overwhelming response from I librarians and research scholars throughout the country. Over 100 participants joined the webinar.
