National Webinar on Artificial Intelligence

National Webinar Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Libraries and KRC's-15/10/2023 

St. Teresa’s Institute of education organized a webinar on “ARTIFICAIL INTELLEGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING FOR LIBRARIAES AND KRCAS” on 15th September 2023. The guest speaker for the webinar was Dr. Parthsarathi Mukhopadhaya Department of Library and Information Science University of Kalyani, West Bengal

 


St. Teresa’s Institute of Education and Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan’s  Smt. Surajba College of Education jointly organized a national webinar on “ARTIFICAIL INTELLEGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING FOR LIBRARIAES AND KRCs” on 15th September 2023 at 2:30 pm to 4:30 PM on zoom platform. The guest speaker for the webinar was Dr. Parthsarathi Mukhopadhayay, faculty member of University of Kalyani, department of library and information science.

It was a very informative webinar as Dr. Mukhopadhaya enlightened the audience with a wide range of tools and motivated to explore those later on. The webinar began with a Sanskrit shloka describing knowledge as supreme wealth and person should always be thirsty for gaining new knowledge to excel in his work. Prof Dr. Gisele D’souza, Principal in Charge of St. Teresa’s Institute of Education delivered keynote address. She welcomed all the participants and the guest speaker. She suggested that AI is entering all the fields especially in libraries so to gain knowledge about all the tools is the need of the hour. She perfectly quoted that computer is fast and accurate; man is slow, sometimes inaccurate but brilliant so we need to make combination of both.

Dr Shakuntala Nighot introduced the esteemed speaker.  The session saw an overwhelming response from I librarians and research scholars throughout the country. Over 100 participants joined the webinar.

Women's day display

                                                Women's Day Display  7-03-2023

On 7th March, a book display was organized in St.Teresa's library on the account of Women's day . It was an extraordinary book display,  which celebrated the literary achievements of influential women.

The main aim of this book display was to raise awareness among the students about powerful women. The students were awe of the display and thoroughly enjoyed by the students and they were encouraged to read about women authors. They were also motivated to take upon literary pursuits.

                          Dr.  A.P.J ABDUL KALAM BOOK DISPLAY- 16/10/23

    A book display was organized from 16th October to 23rd October,2023 to honor the great visionary Dr.Abdul Kalam.This was not only a great opportunity for the students the explore the literary pursuits of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam but also the books written on this great leader. Each book in the display is a testament to Dr. Kalam's enduring legacy—a legacy of innovation, inspiration, and indomitable spirit.

This display was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and the staff. The main behind organizing this display was to make the students and the staff aware of the books written by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam and the books written on him. The students were greatly motivated by his thoughts and were inspired to follow his powerful thoughts and views.




Maths Display

                  National Mathematics Books Display-  22/12/2023
It's rare to encounter celebrations dedicated to academic subjects, particularly Maths, but here at St. Teresa's library, a book display was organized from 14th December to 22nd December,2023 to celebrate the subject.


The students got a chance to step into the world of Mathematics with this captivating Math display, where every corner holds a new revelation and every equation tells a story. The Math display was also important to invoke interest in the students for the subject. The students and the staff were very enthusiastic after seeing the display and they were uplifted to explore many new possibilities in this subject. The staff also were inspired and emboldened to teach the subject in many possible ways.


Human rights day

                   Human Rights day Book display - 1o/12/23    

Human rights day is globally observed on 10th December. It serves as a reminder of the universal principles enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. On this day, we reflect on the importance of upholding the inherent dignity and worth of every individual and reaffirm our commitment to promoting and protecting human rights for all.

Human rights day was also celebrated at St. Teresa's institute of education. A book display was organized from 10th October to 14th December,2023 where important books on human rights were kept for the students and the staff to see. The students got an opportunity to step into the world of human rights through the pages of these books, each one a testament to the struggles, triumphs, and aspirations of individuals and communities around the globe. This display encouraged the students to promote the human rights movement. This display also encouraged them to read more the about the Human rights.

                                              

  Mahatma Gandhi Books Display- 3/10/2023


                                             

Here at St. Teresa's ,Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in a unique way. A book display from 3rd October to 10th October was organized in the honor of Mahatma Gandhi. The books written by, and on Mahatma Gandhi were displayed on the Library shelf. The main aim  of this display was to make the students aware of the amazing literature written by him. All the staff and students really enjoyed the display and were motivated to read more about  Mahatma Gandhi and were encouraged follow his principles.
